BC Fashion Week

October 3, 2009

Today will be the final day of BC Fashion Week 2009, and I'll be at most of the shows, taking photos. I was able to attend on Monday, and it was a really exciting time. I can't wait to get shooting today.

Also, watch this space. I'll be upgrading my website over the next few weeks, adding some pages and redoing the look and feel.

Summer Is Upon Us!

June 28th, 2009

It's been a productive few months; I have done a couple of beach shoots, a couple of studio shoots, and I've really been pleased with my work lately. Be sure to check out my shots from English Bay with Ashley.

All Caught Up

April 4th, 2009

My photo gallery is current! I put up the shots from my Paparazzi-style shoot, and I've posted the behind the scenes photos from my last film project; a film noir called 'Chasing Skirts'. We didn't make the final selections for the 72-hour Raincity Film Noir Challenge, but we had a lot of fun making our film. Also, it was my first time in the director's chair, and I had a great time overseeing the production. I'll post a link to the film once it's online.

Springtime Shooting

March 31st, 2009

March didn't bring a great deal of photography; I'm still trying to do a beach shoot, but neither weather nor temperature has been kind. I did a lovely set of photos with Vienna late in the month (the photos are, as usual, in the gallery), and I did a paparazzi-style shoot with Tina. Shots from that one will be coming at a later date, since I haven't narrowed down a list of my favourites just yet. I wouldn't want to put up all 400 photos!

A Wrench Named Drainbane

March 1st, 2009

Every year I become involved in the Port Moody Quick Flick Challenge, a 48-hour short film contest. Entrants receive an inspiration package (which includes a character, a location, a line, and a prop), and they have two days to write, shoot, edit, and produce a 5 minute short film. In the end, we wound up shooting a film about a wrench-slinging handyman who visits a house populated by virgin knitresses. We called it Knitfix. Check out the behind the scenes shots in my photos gallery!

Over the course of the weekend, I managed seven hours of sleep. It's time to crash.

Valentine's Day is Over!

February 22nd, 2009

I've been doing a few shoots outside my usual scope lately. I had a few shoots which involved interesting makeup, creating a very different look than the usual glamour photography I do. It really let Karilee ply her craft; she's quite the wizard with makeup. She also models; we had a very successful shoot.

On the 15th, I did an Anti-Valentine's Day shoot with Raven. Karilee really played up the makeup for this one, and we shot outdoors; by the time we started shooting, we were using the available fluorescent light. It worked out well, though; I think it gives the shots a certain gritty quality to them.

March is coming soon, and with it, longer days. I'm hoping to start on some beach photography very soon. I had meant to get to the beach last year during the summer, but by the time I had things falling into place, it was getting too chilly. It will be cold in March, certainly, but the early start will give me a good chance to practice up and prepare for a busy summer!

And We're Live!

January 8th, 2009

There are still many things to be done, but the website is online and functional! I've uploaded a number of photos from my recent shoots, so please stop by the photo gallery and take a look. Let me know what you think!

A big thanks to Paul, who helped me with the coding. Check out his blog here!
